New digital radio stations as RNT Lyon grows
Lyon, 20 December 2011: It was announced today, by the leader of the RNT Lyon project, VDL, that a further 15 commercial stations would go on-air in 2012.
The RNT Lyon project which started in May 2011 currently has 15 commercial stations broadcasting local content alongside new programmes on digital. -

CSA approves digital radio demonstration in Lyon, France
Lyon, 28 April 2011: It was announced today that the French regulator, Conseil
supérieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA), has approved the ‘RNT Lyon’ project - a consumer
focused digital radio demonstration. This nine month project will see digital radio
services are on-air in Lyon, France from April to December 2011. -

WORLDDMB Announces ETSI Standard for DAB+
WorldDMB, the international organization which promotes all Eureka 147-based digital broadcasting technologies, has confirmed that the additional audio codec for Digital Audio Broadcasting was formally published by ETSI yesterday (12th February 2007) as an official international standard. The name of the additional codec, DAB+, was announced earlier this month, and will be used by broadcasters, manufacturers and consumers all over the world. -
Samsung Electronics, Bouygues Telecom, TF1 and VDL collaborate to provide the first Terrestrial DMB trial service in France
Samsung Electronics, Korea based leading telecom systems and mobile handset provider, Bouygues Telecom, France’s mobile operator, TF1, France’s mobile TV operator, and VDL, France's digital network provider and equipment manufacturer, have agreed to cooperate in the area of T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Media Broadcasting) to provide the first trial service in France.
